MarieSue Lingerie Ltd., is the brain child of Maria Byrne and Susan Alsybury two friends since they were 14 who were one day sitting in the kitchen, kids gone to school and were making up their minds that it was now time to be thinking about heading back into the work force. Willing to take a gamble on friendship decided that they might venture into business together. Having toyed with different ideas and searched for what was missing in their area they noticed a niche in the market for a professional lingerie boutique and flew with the idea. They travelled the length and breadth of Ireland and some major towns in the UK doing research. For the type of shop they saw as being a success in their area.
They both went on fitting courses and then advanced fitting courses which involves the fitting of mastectomy and maternity wear. Their business has been built on the expert service that they provide which has people travelling from afar to call to their premises.
Maria and Susan have moved along with the times and had to move to a larger premise 3 years ago. The kids have got older and the time then came to advance a little bit further with the business so they got involved with a local competition for a web page design and here they are launching their new site in 2008. “Watch this space”

A brief history of the set up of MarieSue Lingerie:
MarieSue Lingerie was established in 2003 by Maria Byrne and Susan Alsybury. After ongoing market research both ladies discovered that there was only one other bra fitting department in their home town and surrounding counties. They also discovered that a high percentage of local women travelled to Dublin to be fitted. Both Maria and Susan were uncertain of the potential success of this type of company but their inner risk taking spirit led them to set up this new and exciting venture. MarieSue has grown from strength to strength. Since the company’s humble beginnings MarieSue has more than doubled in size. Susan and Maria have recently opened their doors to customers in their new and more spacious premises in the Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Carlow (Barrack Street entrance near Auto World) to facilitate their growth in business and clients.
MarieSue Lingerie is a professional lingerie boutique catering to clients of all shapes and sizes through an unrivalled range of lingerie, Shape wear (corsetry), Hosiery, Swimwear, Nightwear and Accessories. The company offers Carlow’s only qualified specialist bra fitting service and is also the only qualified fitter and supplier of mastectomy wear HSE approved throughout Waterford, Kilkenny,Wicklow, Kildare, Tipperary, Wexford, Carlow and other surrounding counties. It must be noted that our company’s reputation has been developed and strengthened due to our extensive range of specialised products that are not available within a 65 km radius. MarieSue Lingerie caters for all women from AA cup to J cup, from 28 back to 50 back, whether you are pregnant or nursing your baby or are recovering from a mastectomy they have the bras and nightwear to accommodate your needs.
